Elsie, 22 September 2026. Written because the same artefact was rejected twice in one evening (the words, then the pictures), which fires the house rule: nothing further reaches Scott until the standard has been re-read and WRITTEN DOWN, and the next thing he sees is that standard's own mock.
The house rule is Greta's law 5: the first source for any picture on a surface Scott sees is what he
has starred, installed or praised, read as pictures, never a new scene. Applied here that would
mean the Art Bank folders 01 STARRED CANDIDATES - PICK FROM HERE, the app's live covers, the site
hero. His sentence 5 overrides it for this piece: he asked for bespoke Grok work by name, and his
own word outranks a house rule every time. The brief Greta draws from is ART-BRIEF.md beside this
file. Why the starred picks would not have served anyway, measured: every starred advert card in
03 Salus Sleep - Apple Ads Images and 01 Salus Sleep - Google Android Images carries baked
headline type, a "#1 Bestseller" shield and a Trustpilot badge. Advertising furniture inside a
personal thank-you to somebody who has already paid is the wrong register, and cropping it out leaves
a fragment of an advert rather than a picture made for this.
A letter, not a template. One column, no cards inside cards, no grid, no rules and dividers carving it into sections. Warm off-white ground, dark ink, generous space, a readable letter face at a size an adult reads without effort, the lines kept to a comfortable measure rather than stretched to the full 600. One picture at the top and one below the sign-off. The email's few colours are taken from Greta's finished pictures when they land, which is why the shell is neutral today and why no palette is written into this standard.
His name, a small line under it, the S mark small beside it. No corporate block, no logo lockup, no address, no company line (7 above).
Tables and inline styles only. Width 600 with max-width so it reflows on a phone. No CSS
gradients, which Gmail drops. Every picture hosted on media.salus-rooms.com and read back over
https before it is referenced, with width and height on every img. Webfonts may be named but never
depended on, so the design must hold in the fallback face. color-scheme declared, a preheader line,
and a plain-text alternative sent in the same message. No em-dash anywhere.
From "Scott Ripley [email protected]", reply_to the same. Checked on Resend at 17:4x BST on
22 September 2026 with the house key read by reference: salus-mind.com is verified in region
eu-west-1 (alongside bid-ready.co.uk and get-launch-kit.com). Resend verifies a DOMAIN, not an
address, so any mailbox on salus-mind.com may send and scott@ needs nothing further. That closes
the check Iris's draft 2 asks for at its section 6.5.
salus-brain/reports/iris_play-welcome-email-draft_2026-09-22.md. Draft 1 is rejected. Draft 2,
section 6, is in his own voice. Draft 3 is being written to sentence 8 (under 110 words, every
transactional line gone) and replaces draft 2 in the shell the moment it lands. Until then the shell
carries draft 2's personal sentences with the transactional ones removed, which is an OMISSION and
never a rewrite: not one word of hers is changed.
Scott, reading it in his own inbox, verbatim, in order:

Both halves are struck: the words and the pictures. Greta's two bespoke Grok scenes and Iris's
draft 4 revision 4 are both rejected, and neither is reused, repaired or re-cropped into anything.

(revision 3) and 01a0c9f4-1565-7645-ba99-39a5101019c8 at 17:30:11 BST (revision 4). Both are on
the record above rather than pretended away.
THIS FOLDER IS DISARMED, IN CODE. send-draft.py now refuses and exits non-zero unless a Boss
word is written into SEND-AUTHORISED.md beside it, with a non-empty line that is not a comment.
It fails closed. There is no flag, no environment variable and no phrase that stands it down, and
it is never widened to get something out. Proved red on 22 September 2026 immediately after it was
written: run with no authorisation file, it refused and exited 1 without opening the Resend endpoint.
What is NOT decided here, and no later window should read it into this file: what the third build's words or pictures are. Iris and Greta are being torn down and rebuilt by Jonah on his order, and the standard above (his eight sentences, the client constraints, the sender check) is the only part of this folder that survives the tear-down.

What this closes, countably. (1) The welcome letter is finished with: no third build, no new
words, no new pictures, no send, today or on any later window's own reading. (2) What replaces it is
a simple confirmation and nothing more, which is a NEXT-CUT job on the list for Cleo with Dev,
never a design job and never this folder. (3) Nothing is built today. (4) This folder stays as
HISTORY: the standard, the art brief, the shell, both renders and the rejected first build are kept
whole so the next hand can read what happened rather than repeat it. (5) send-draft.py stays
disarmed in code and is never re-armed for this letter.
The cost, recorded once and not argued: four rejections in forty minutes on one artefact (the words, the pictures, the whole second build, then this), two copies in his inbox, and his own evening spent correcting a thing he had asked for in one sentence. The house rule that should have stopped it after the second rejection is the one in this file's own opening paragraph.
