Best for: an overactive, self-commenting mind

Every meditation comes with a built-in narrator: a voice that says "here we go," that hopes this one will work, that describes the shift of weight as you settle. In this session you make that commentary the object of attention rather than a distraction from it. You'll practise hearing the inner narration as sound rather than instruction, watching it arise and pass without following it. The voice doesn't stop — you simply stop standing inside it.
